Abyss of the Fallen

Mr. Cool: Buy the damn book! This is marketing, money, baby!

Diana Estell (Author): Hey dudes! Language, take it down a thousand

Razz: Thousands? Money? Where’s my cut?

Dagon: You guys will get paid, don’t worry about it. Mary likes books and says that the best ones help us have a sense of community and enable us to relate to and support each other.

Sledge: What’s that about?

Dagon: I don’t really know, um.. something about appreciating our similarities and differences and our unique voices and personalities. I’m still trying to figure out this human business.

Friar: I don’t know, it sounds kinda dodgy, but Mary knows things, so it could be true.

Diana: You guys, novels like Abyss of the Fallen with characters like you can really help people get through and enjoy the day-to-day struggles they face. By connecting with you they connect to parts of themselves and their experiences, and their shared love for you and your stories makes a fandom that brings people together from around the world. Dagon, you feel caught between two worlds, and many people feel that way.

Dagon: Yep, caught between the immortal and mortal worlds. Where do I fit in if I fit in anywhere?

Razz: Hey Diana, I don’t understand why this book is called a novel, it belongs in the non-fiction section, the stuff in here really happened to us! I don’t really care much about that though, just so long as I get paid!

Mr. Cool: We put it in the fiction section because it has seraphs, dragons, and a love story, fiction buffs will love that stuff. So buy the damn book! This is marketing, money baby!

Abyss of the Fallen - Quick Overview

For centuries, Dagon balances between two worlds, the spiritual and the physical. Half-angel, he sees into the hearts of men and hears their thoughts. Half-human, he shares their flaws and their addictions. His two worlds collide when Dagon finds Mary, a troubled girl enslaved by her abusive past. While humans remain unaware of the spiritual battle around them, Savila, the ruler of The Abyss, wages war for their blood and souls. When Mary discovers Dagon holds the title, “Guardian of Light,” she fights to help him keep it for the sake of all humanity. Even her dreams prepare her for the coming devastation. Savila forces Dagon to trick Mary into one unconscionable act, an act that solidifies Savila’s devious plot to rule both worlds. With Dagon and Mary at odds, is Mary’s love strong enough to forgive Dagon? The stakes of love climb higher and higher, and even with all his supernatural powers, Dagon can’t save Mary from sure destruction. Can anything overcome the evil in both of their pasts? The fate of humanity very well may depend on it…

About Diana

Since a very young age, Diana traveled the world exploring new cultures, history, and art. These experiences fuel her writing. Since the age of seven, dictionaries became her playgrounds for learning new words and crafting her own unique ones. By age eleven she wanted to be a ninja, so she studied hard and earned a black belt in three different styles of martial arts. Later in life, she earned a degree in Cultural Anthropology. Diana’s inspirations include gothic art, architecture, and world history.

She enjoys reading fantasy novels, science fiction, and biographies. Bram Stoker’s Dracula remains her favorite novel to this day. Since her parents would not get her a dragon as a child, she writes about them. Currently, she lives in the Chicago suburbs with her family. Diana’s first novel, Abyss of the Fallen, is the first book in a trilogy.

In 2017, she received an Editor’s Choice award for the manuscript of Abyss of the Fallen. She is an accomplished public speaker on diverse topics, including speaking to ambassadors from Kenya, Tanzania, and South Africa regarding policies that affect orphans, as well as speaking at schools about the craft of writing. She would like to speak more on mental health awareness.
